Love the kit! It's built better than you would expect for the price tag especially when you compare it too the competition. Hands down the best design, quality, and execution. As a automotive technician my self I wanted the smart choice for my own work truck and I believe I found it!
Patrick M.
Great install, great instructions. Parts are a very high quality. Took about 2.5 hours to install this and the CCV delete kits.
Christopher E.
Quality parts that work great at a good price.
andrew b.
Purchased based off my mechanic’s recommendation as my 6.7 was climbing in age/mileage. Looking forward to replacing with the new fuel pump to completely protect the engine.
William W.
The kit was easy to install plus a detailed YouTube installation available as well as online accessibility to instructions. It’s freshly installed including the exofilter so time will tell.
Steve B.
This beats Ford's idea of a disaster kit hands down! And way cheaper way to go if your cp4 would fail! Not to mention looks badass with the other SPE products I've purchased to go with this!
Alex P.
Kit went in real easy and it even came with a new rubber for the stock part you re-use in case if it’s bad from pulling it out.
jaymen b.
Had a fuel leak on the distribution block, wrong size o rings, was sent new o rings no issue, hopefully never will now.
Brett P.
Finished installing the kit lastnight on my 2011 f250. I am not a mechanic but am very mechanically inclined, kit took me 8 hrs to install with a full toolbox of my snapon tools. Needing lots of 1/4 drive extentions and swivels and a magnet to get dropped bolts and wrenches. Had a issue threading the 90 degree fittings into the fuel block and also the metering valve took me 30 mins each because they only threaded in a 1 turn and a half. I knew they were going to leak like that with just vibra-tite on the threads. So i worked the fittings in back and fourth with a wrench until i got the desired angle and about 3+ full turns into the block. Being very carefull to not crack the aluminum block in the process. Cleaned it out throughly after with brake cleaner to remove metal debris. Video Instructions show guy using what looks like teflon tape but the printed instructions show to use supplied vibra-tite. Looked up the cure time of vibratite and it says 24 hrs although i didnt not wait more than 2 hrs to prime the system. No leaks sofar. I am very happy with the kit overall. Found a mouse nest under my turbo and cp4 so im glad i did the work myslelf, plus other misc. bolts that previous mechanics forgot to tighten. Between installing this kit and installing cab mounts, i feel like i can quit being an ironworker and become a mechanic full time. Lol

Great fit everything plugged right in

I had the kit installed by my diesel shop here in Shreveport Louisiana.
While installing the 90 degree NPT fittings in the pump block adapter the threads in the block had a line of uncut material which would only allow the fitting to thread into the block 1-2 threads deep. It was apparent as it was a straight line down the threads that it was possibly a casting issue during the manufacture of this part.
Upon identification of this defect he cleaned the threads out with a tap and chase to allow the 90 degree NPT fitting to thread into it properly. (I understand that NPT fittings don’t thread into the block completely but this was not being stopped by the fitting but rather the material left in the threads).
He did not provide a picture but he is a well qualified diesel mechanic that followed the directions for the kit and explained the problem to me in detail.
Other than that problem he/I liked your kit very much and plans on recommending it to all his 6.7 customers.
I’m not sure if the shop will be charging me additional for the time it took him to sort it out and remedy the issue but I definitely wanted to let you know you may have an issue with how the threading is being done on the adapter plate to the CP4.
I brought this issue to tech support and it seemed to be brushed off as I/we didn’t understand that an NPT fitting doesn’t thread in completely to the other part normally, but what we were trying to convey was the problem stated above.
I like the kit and think it was well thought out and packaged well. It installed much easier than any other kit my mechanic had used prior and as I said he plans on recommending them to future 6.7 clients that are looking for a solution to the “CP4 problem”.
Thank you,
Joe
Cole L.
The product is good quality and the installation went fairly smooth, I have only one issue with this product, and that's is that the threaded ports that the NPT to JIC 90° elbows thread into required a thread tap to remove the anodizing from the threads so that the fittings could be threaded in more than 2-3 turns.
Otherwise, everything went together well, and there were no fuel leaks.
One other thing to note is that the fuel line spacer for my truck was to tall and when it was installed it caused the high pressure steel line to be under to much stress, so I just used 2 small washers and that provided enough clearance for the high pressure adapter and the return line.
Michael B.
I wish I could say it was easy but it was a little difficult for an average guy like myself. I got it finished after around 6 hrs. All the parts fit as suspected great look and fit.
Troy F.
Fits as designed. Offers a huge piece of mind on the failure that Ford should find a replacement for.
Great quality.
William B.
Direct bolt on application. Be mindful of the heater core hose when removing and reinstalling the lower intake. Plastic fittings are less forgiving as they age.
Charles W.
Well made quality product. Absolutely easy install.
Manley b.
Overall installers pretty simple. I was not able to twist the return line to install it on the mini keg filter without damaging the stock return line. I ended up having to shorten and repair the return line so I could get it to face the correct way.
Troy F.
While I would probably love the product had I received all the parts.
The material seems very solid.
Adam B.
Fit and finish is spot on! Surprisingly excellent quality of materials. Hopefully I’ll never notice it’s there.
Trent B.
Great fitment great products
Daniel H.
Disaster prevention kit very well made all the parts are solid and very well designed. Easy to install and a great upgrade to help you keep you truck running. If you dont have one i suggest you go get one. Great job SPE.
Tim M.
I think it is a great kit and should save everyone who uses it a lot of money when the pump comes apart. The kit went on pretty easily. I wish the new plastic fuel line from the fuel filter was slightly longer. In had a hard time getting this line on. I used assembly lube before I tried the first time. I ended up cutting the O ring and had a leak. I was able to take the O ring from the OE line and make bit work. I also wish the return line didn't have to be turned 90 degrees. I was worried about the line breaking. Thanks for building a great product.
Alexander C.
Good parts and great instructions. Most of all, good engineering, and this is coming from an aerospace engineer.
austin d.
Other than missing pieces (which they offered to fix) it was an easy install. It looks super clean and no leaks at all!
Brandon W.
I feel better knowing my whole fuel system can't be ruined from the pump
Jean P.
Works well not too bad to install.
Leopoldo Q.
This is the real deal!! Don’t Be fooled by imposters.
Mike W.
I purchased this kit like a year ago and just installed it about a month ago. I've had no low fuel pressure issues, let alone any issues at all with this kit! It would've been nice for the w directions to have torque specifications and patterns for the intake, but I was able to find this rather easily online. It's a great quality kit!
Bryan V.
Great quality materials. Piece mind paying for this instead of spending 12k-15k to replace the fuel system. Ended up ordering EGR delete, CCV reroute, & cold side IC piping straight to the intake since I had everything off already.
Gregory M.
20 minute job.. plug and play.. easy install..
Roy H.
Everything fit as it was designed. The piece of mind is awesome and It looks great. On thing that will vary for each rig is the short hard fuel line. Mine fits really tight making my filter change harder. There is a long and short side so pay attention to that. Another thing is there is no instruction to where the screen fitting installs. Shows it kinda in the background of pictures but doesn't talk about it specifically.
john h.
All components were of the highest professional grade machined beautifully , the online tutorial helped very much with the install a must watch Before & After you order
Spencer F.
Simple install with a few basic tools. Fitment is good with the exception of the return hose being a little bit of a pain. 6.7's should have came stock with these kits!
Jason E.
Just got it installed
Danny N.
Had the mechanic install it. He was pretty impressed.
Kenny G.
Disaster kit was simple to install. My truck is running and performing better!!!
Christopher .
I really like how still being new to the diesel world I’ve learned quite a bit just from all the YouTube Videos SPE has and they go into depth explaining things which brings me to keep purchasing their very well thought out, designed and manufactured parts!
Angel P.
Pic is a little rough looking but this kit is amazing hardest this about the install is removing the plastic manifold.love the quality on the parts. Been running it on my all stock ‘15 powerstroke I don’t have any issues at all thank you!
Jonathan M.
Installation was pretty straightforward took about four hours total. Since installing the kit I have had no issues and I’m happy with my purchase at this time.
Francis T.
I’m just a home mechanic with regular tools and all O can say is High quality products both fit and finish. If you plan on purchasing this in which you should, make sure to put together the locking plate for the fuel line manifold and fuel return filter or you will mix them up like I did. Overall, the install took me 10-15 minutes tops.
Chris S.
Order arrived as expected, back to work for two weeks before I can do the install.
Will report back after install
greg k.
Kit was of very nice quality, everything was well packaged and protected. Fit and finish was very nice as well. If your truck does not have a CCV re route it may be a little tight with factory CCV box but it does fit.
Todd H.
I purchased 2 of these, one for a 2012 which I had installed 2 years ago. The truck was previously deleted by the former owner, so I don't know what was removed, and the install was a breeze. I recently purchased the second one for a 2019 F-450 and it was intact, and was NOT a breeze. The upper intake bolts are locked into the intake and they get hung up trying to remove it. I worked around that, leaving it in place and removed the lower intake. You do need a long skinny shaft torx to get to the front bolt of the pump, but aside from that, the parts went on easily. The filter side though took some work as the gap between the hard lines is not wide enough for the cap that secures the splitter to the line, so I carefully spread them apart with a pry bar, and was able to get the cap on. It was a little bit more work on the 2019 than the 2012, but best insurance you can buy for these diesels.
My only complaint is the return filter. Great idea, but difficult to install due to the shielding by the line, and the plastic line does not fit very well, it starts to kink no matter how careful I try, so didn't install it on the 19 because I didn't want to battle trying to get the bolt secured from underneath with how little room there is and was having difficulty trying to disconnect the clip on the line. Not a knock against the product, but there is a simpler to install filter that just plugs in place. Doesn't look as nice, but easier to install. It is part of another companies kit, but I prefer the SPE kit for both looks and assembly, the other kit is a one piece block with lines attached and feels to me like a stress point of failure, and frankly looks hacked together where the SPE kit looks well made, and it is, the machining quality is outstanding.
On the instructions, adding a little more detail, such as how to get the upper out due to the bolts not coming out, and how to remove the CCV pipe from the lower would be helpful, those two items hung me up a bit and had to do some online searching for the CCV pipe. Still not sure how the upper is removed with those bolts getting hung up.
Tony W.
Product arrived quickly, installation was very easy with no issues at all,the return filter was a great idea
Travis R.
Great kit. Easy to install and great customer service!! Thanks SPE for making a quality kit!
David L.
Another SPE Kit in action!! Installed several of these units with ease! Highly recommend to save you a lot of money down the road.
Garrett P.
Great company to do business with
Jason G.
Badass !!! The only way to describe it! Thanks SPE! Keep up the good work!!
Ryan O.
Very clean sleek look!
Steve S.
Great products and fit perfectly.
Ryan S.
Dudes, I ordered this kit after one of my friends sent me the YouTube link. So far I’ve only opened the package to inspect for quality and I’m not disappointed. It will be a few weeks before I get it installed, but I’m most impressed with the shipping, I effed up the street name, sent a reply from the order form back to SPE and they amended it super quick. SPE is a company of stand up guys.
V/R, Ryan USCG.
Jonathan K.
Well built kit!!!
Kirk A.
I would have given 5 stars but the kit shown in the description of the product I bought is not what I received. I thought my kit would come with the ExoFilter that would allow me to monitor the system when maintenancing my truck… it did not. The item pictured when I purchased the system clearly shows this filter. My mechanic already had the top part of the motor disassembled because he was installing a new turbo when this was discovered and I was leaving on a long trip the next day so I had him install what we had which he said would prevent a disaster. The kit I have is effective but not what I ordered.
David L.
I've ordered several of these kits and is why I waited to do a review. These kits are a huge money saver in the event your cp4 fails! Saves you several thousands! Would recommend a shop installing these if you're not mechanically inclined. I push these for all my customers with the 6.7 Powerstrokes.
James E.
I had the F-250 fuel pump disaster prevention kit installed by a professional diesel mechanic. The mechanic said it’s the best preventative fuel pump disaster kit he has seen. I’ve already driven over a 1,000 miles since having the kit installed, and have had no problem’s. I would recommend this product for anyone looking to prevent a fuel pump disaster.
jared y.
Seems to be a very well manufactured product! Obviously won’t know how well it does unless my pump would go out but it is a very well designed product! Seems like a good insurance to me! Also very easy and self explanatory to install!
Dean E.
Look like it is built well. Have not install yet. But look like easy install. I am I purchase the kit. Thank you
Joe M.
Fits perfectly simple install takes about 2 hours. Now my motor is safe from a pump failure.
Donald G.
Parts look Great, installed easy and like that you can inspect screen for debris easily. Had A line fail contacted SPE and they sent a replacement right away, great customer service. Definitely would recommend its a great piece of mind.
Christopher J.
Kit is professionally made will give more feed back when ccv reroute comes in and new hot pipe comes in and I install everything at one time.
Tim B.
Easy install! Great folks to work with! It’s only SPE going on my 6.7! Thanks again!
Jacob K.
Install went good. Only issue was the connection on top of the MPROP gets raised up with the kit and gets squished by the lower intake on the earlier model 6.7s, which if it’s brittle the tab can break off the connector. Other than that it seems to fit pretty well.
Erwin W.
Complete install done in the RV park between thunderstorms in 6 hours. Lol. The Allen wrench line lock plate was a challenge u know 6.7 has a lot in the way had a small leak on the access Allen plug but solved with a title thread sealant
Dorothy W.
The product was as described and works well. Although it took over a month to arrive. When I ordered it showed in stock, I paid extra for 2 day shipping. I never got any communication saying it was out of stock until I inquired. When it came back into stock after a month, I was still charged the extra 60+ dollars for fast shipping! Not happy with the customer service.
Roger E.
Perfect fit and finish,a 10 in every way
Andrew F.
Kit was supper easy to install. Fits great and no leaks. Workmanship on parts is high quality.
andrew n.
I have yet to install the disaster prevention kit but I will be giving a full video review on our YouTube channel but so far Im very impressed with the quality of the parts and hoses that were provided.
I do look forward to purchasing more products in the future !!
Tomas G.
Amazing quality on all the products
But need to wait for 3 months to get my parts
Keith A.
After reviewing the options to protect my entire fuel system, I concluded this was the best on the market. My 2012 6.7 has 182,000 miles. I couldn’t risk that pump contaminating and damaging the entire system. When I pulled the control valve on top of the pump I was so relived not to see a bit of metal or rust, it was pristine. So I have beaten the odds by installing this kit. Yes the pump will fail but it’s $2000 to fix instead of $12,000-15,000 for an entire fuel system. Thank you SPE.
WILLIAM B K.
Overall, the SPE DPK is very well built. I performed the install along with a EGR/DEF delete. I also installed new fuel filters at this time. After everything was assembled, and the truck was tested, I kept getting the Low Fuel Pressure error. Since I made a ton of changes to this truck at one time, I was not 100% convinced that the DPK was the root cause of the low fuel pressure issue. I methodically tested each change and found that the SOTF switch was the root cause of the low fuel pressure issue. While installing the SOTF switch (which was not a SPE product) I didn’t think it was a good idea to tie the wires from the SOTF switch to the fuel pressure sensor harness as the instructions called for. My advice- and take it for what it’s worth, if you get a low fuel pressure alarm after installing this kit, check your SOTF first before removing both intake manifolds again and removing the DPK. Doing this solved my low fuel pressure issue.
James S.
Everything went on as planned. I think there should be a video made of taking the truck intake off the engine (time consuming).
Also, I think the plastic line fitting on the small screen filter should be a little shorter on account of the return line being shoved up against the brake booster.
Nice kit otherwise!
Tom H.
Made very well and looks great. Knowing there is some protection gives piece of mind.
Suggested improvement, in instructions explain the filters with 2 ports vs 3 port. Also identify the return line by size and factory color of connector.
While installing I found my return line was damaged. These are 12mm/1/2" plastic fuel lines.....would be nice to have the sizes of all fuel lines listed in instructions, just in case repairs are required.
Fyi, standard plastic lines are 3/8, 5/16, and 1/4 so part stores don't carry 1/2" and none of them knew what size my line was in order to find parts. Every parts store in my area told me it was a dealer only part. Call the dealer and you can't buy repair kits or parts, only $600 complete fuel line as long as the truck.
Sure-r makes plastic repair parts for plastic fuel lines. Go to thier web site to fund a parts store that is a registered reseller in order to buy individual pieces. Thier quick connects are as good as factory, high quality.
Ryan R.
Products is well designed and made. Instructions are some of the best I have seen. Detailed with great pictures!
Dexter W.
Kit installed really easy directions were easy to follow as well.
Chuck M.
It should be known when you buy the deserter prevention kit you also need a ccv reroute kit so you can install the return catch screen. Another 200.00
John B.
Installation did take a quick minute of the whole kit. Instructions suck BTW. Here are just a few suggestions to help that only takes a quick minute to add to them. 1-add a complete parts list with pictures of the parts.
2-I got the two retainer ring clips/covers mixed up. Which in goes on the return/exit? 3-Have a picture with each step and arrows. I was able to figure the kit out but adult legos with fuel system parts isn’t that fun with crappy instructions. 4- add the torques for the upper and lower intakes and other bolts removed. That extra step will save some of us that don’t have a shop manual to reference. 5-have a side note or call out for you to look at your intakes/throttle valve for possible blockage/baked on carbon. I had to soak both intakes and butterfly valve in purple power for 24 hours to dissolve the buildup. (I haven’t deleted my EGR). 6- Recommend vacuum out under the lower intake once removed and wipe of any debris around CP4 fuel pump/valve before disassembly. Mine had sand/grease and other items when I removed the lower intake. 7- that Allen bolt for the retaining ring cover on the ExFiler is a bitch to tighten or start. That should be the first thing you should put on when everything’s completely dissembled.
Other than that, solid product. Fits nicely and looks OEM.
Randall O.
System is extremely precision and a very good design. The only complaint that I have is the difficulty of installing the return filter screen housing on to the return line. A quick connect at that point would be great. Very difficult to get the plate and Allen screw on the bottom without dropping them. Otherwise great job.
Reagan R.
Best kit on the market! Very robust and solves many issues!
Mitchell B.
Great quality product, instal was a breeze definitely recommended for a peace of mind for when your cp4 fails saves you a ton of money. Installed on a 2014 f250
Chad S.
Went on flawless and saved me a ton of money in the long run
Hunter D.
I have a 2019 powerstroke and the only complaint I have is both the reroute and the filter come in contact with the ccv and takes a little finesse to get it to fit in. But if you had the ccv reroute aswell it would probably fit perfectly.
Terry K.
Very good item. Best on the market. Will order more items in future.
geoff t.
I found the product as advertised and instructions good as well . It would have been nice to show the customer how to open the actual plastic return line clips , some of them proved tricky . Also when the product is shipped to Canada they change an extra $120 to get the product from the border to my house , since this product would fit in my mailbox it could have been much cheaper on shipping to use Canada post instead of UPS . On future order would this be possible as I am looking at some other SPE products .
Erik K.
I think the product quality is great. I only had one issue with the ccv pipe not working with the distribution block that mounts on the fuel line. The block would not fit with out the line spacer but with the line spacer the ccv tube won’t fit
Chris S.
All the right parts and easy install. Fit perfectly.
ROY, B.
Everything fit great
Vernon D.
AWESOME product! The quality is top notch. Installation was a breeze!
JOSHYOUA C.
All my up grades will be purchased from SPE. Very well made parts and and very good instructions. If you are Mechanically inclined you can put this parts in, there will not be another company I buy from for my f250 very pleased.
Wayne E.
Easy install and fit great
Melvin P.
It took nearly four months to receive my order. Never again
Mike S.
Fast delivery hopefully I will never have to test if it works but I’m extremely happy and pleased
David S.
Work or play, these trucks are the best
Dylan B.
Everything was perfect. Instructions were clear. Only two “complaints” first the fitment of the filter to the existing fuel line was goofy. Second the instructions should mention some stock lower intakes might not fit, I had to grind the casting seem off then it was fine
Ed
Excellent product! Don't listen to the rumors regarding low fuel pressure. Simply not true. Get this product and protect your fuel system if/when your CP4 pump decides to die. SPE is a legit company and takes pride in their R&D in order to provide its customers with solid products that last. Keep pumping out these great products Dan and company. Can't wait to see what's next.
Andrew f.
You should include the thread sealant. Wasn't bad to install and if it saves a $12000+ repair bill you can't go wrong.
Ryan R.
Installed on my 2015 6.7
Better angle to miss clamp on coolant line
