After extensive testing and consideration of the 6.7L Powerstroke application SPE has engineered a thermostat to combat high fluid temperatures.
The OEM thermostat opens at 194/201°F whereas the SPE Low Temp, High Flow Thermostat opens at 175/180°F. That's a significant decrease in temps as it's a 19-21 degree difference!
The solutions currently available on the market for controlling your coolant, oil, & transmission temperatures* (17+ only) are not cost effective or actual solutions to a simple problem.

*2017+ Powerstrokes use the primary cooling system to cool the transmission unlike the 2011-2016 which uses the secondary cooling system.

Purchase one for my ‘11 F-350. 20 minute install. Waited a while to post until I tested it. Engine is constantly 20 degrees cooler. I would typically run around 215 to 220 on these hot southern days hauling a trailer and with the high flow low temp thermostat I run between 185 and 195. Feel a lot better with these temperatures.

Seems to have dropped oil temps a lot. Roughly 25 degrees empty. Trans temps are still higher than I’d like. Replaced the factory cooler they’re lower but this trans just inherently runs hot. Added the mishimoto aux add on cooler and we’re now at 195-205 loaded with 10k

Firm believer in this product! Left the house with over 1300lbs went to Hurricane Utah anyone that’s ever been out there knows when you get west of Denver Colorado it’s some serious hills to pull! First big bull in hot weather was 226 degrees trans was 230 hit the bottom at 65mph dropped to 58mph on a continuous pull rest of the way across interstate 70 and interstate 15 going south never got above 219 on pulls. Last time across there on stock thermostat had to keep backing out because truck was getting hotter than I was comfortable with! Next trip hopefully I will have there transmission proprietary solenoied installed and give it hell to see what it does!

2021 f450 hauling 2021 keystone avalanche 395bh. From Nashville tn, to Asheville North Carolina. Lots of mountain terrain. Oil temp never exceeded 195, trans temp stayed around 200. The coolant temp stayed around 185. I'm happy with the results.

We had to make a midnight ride to Corsicana, Texas trailering a Tahoe to a friend that needed a vehicle because his had broken down mid trip. We delivered the Tahoe, loaded up a dead Mustang for the return trip. All nighter, 70-75 mph, no loss of mpg loaded or unloaded, and the truck ran amazingly cool. Well worth the few dollars and the thirty minutes installation time. Every 6.7 needs one.

My 2012 defueled when it got to 220 on the water temp. I was in "Mexico" WOT for longer than normal and it was a warm day. So I researched thermostats, read the SPE R&D article and it sound like exactly what I needed. Next time WOT in "Mexico" WOT for extended period it stayed much cooler. I was watchin water and oil temperature on a mini maxx in both cases
seems to be an average offset in temps on my truck by 20 degrees on the water temp in normal driving conditions and the oil temp balances out at 180. you can tell it flows better because if it does heat up from WOT it comes back down very quickly and when it goes up its not even reaching what was normal with the stock t stat

Ordered due to needed upper radiator hose because my factory hose was leaking at the top side and I figured since I had that to replace to also put the thermostat on my list after reading the reviews on what an improvement it is in temperature’s and I logged before and after and had a good 15 degree drop in temperature and I would definitely recommend doing this with SPE Upper Radiator hose.

If you are going to do the Radiator hose might as well do the thermostat too. Plus it really does keep the temps down a great deal. My Normal easy going temp is now around 178. Big improvement.

What use to be 200 degree running truck is now in the 150 degree range. A cooler engine is always a happier one! It is funny seeing it only at 1/4 gauge on the dash for temp but I am sure the truck is happier.

Out with the old, in with the new. SPE low temp hi flow was added after I put a few led’s in grill of truck & was worried about air flow & cooling. Dropped about 10-15 degrees & keeps oil temp lower as well.

Works amazingly. Oil temp used to be around 215 driving down the road. And about 188 at idle. Now I’m under 200 and around 174 at idle. Haven’t tried it while pulling yet. But I’m sure it’ll be much cooler than before. Definitely recommend.

This is the best item for your 6.7 to date!
I have the (EGR,DPF, and catalytic converter deleted) with a H&P mini max plus cold air intake. The low temperature high flow thermostat is by far the best item I’ve put on the engine!! I have not seen the water temp go over 174degree period.
The engine performance is absolutely wonderful now that the temperatures are so low. Whoop whoop .
What else do you have for my 6.7- I’ll purchase it no questions asked.

F450 weighs 13k empty always towing at elevation in the mountains, couldn't keep coolant temps down as they would spike after pulling any small grade, the SPE thermostat keeps overall temps lower so when it does spike, they are still within the safe operating range of Ford Specs. Rarely see oil temps above 235 with an oversized oil cooler pulling 30k, previously would see 245 routinely. Great purchase and takes twenty minutes to install, most time consuming is draining coolant.

This thermostat reduced my indicated engine temperature by about 15 degrees (F). Subsequently it also reduced the transmission temperature accordingly. I hope that by utilizing the lower temperatures, coupled with proper maintenance, my new 6.7 Power Stroke will last for many years.
