This tool was designed for shops, engine builders, and 6.7L owners dealing with a slipped crank gear or P0016 cam/crank correlation code. Since the factory crank gear is an interference-fit design with no keyway, pin, or weld from the factory, it can slip under certain conditions and throw off cam timing.
Our timing pointer gives you a precise crankshaft-referenced alignment point, instead of relying on a laser, guesswork, or an external reference point. It locates off the crank snout, balancer dowel pin, and crank OD for a repeatable, accurate fit.
Each tool is CNC-machined in-house by SPE Motorsport and includes an adjustable pointer and bolt. It is a simple, cost-effective solution for verifying crank gear alignment, re-timing the engine, or confirming position before welding the gear.
This is a great tool to keep in the box for 6.7L Power Stroke service work, especially for shops that commonly handle higher-horsepower builds, fuel system upgrades, or crank gear repair.
