3,000 HP On Fuel?

Dynomite Diesel Products has certainly made some noise this winter, and the latest development on the company’s wild U.C.C. 2026 Cummins exemplifies what they’ve been up to. On the engine dyno at Perkins Diesel, their Hamilton CGI block 6.7L common-rail has been pushed to roughly 2,700 hp on fuel—just shy of their 3,000hp goal. But that was on two 14mm CP3’s, and before a third pump entered the chat… A 5.25-inch turbo from Hart’s is forcing nearly 120-psi of boost into the deck-plated Cummins, and we can only assume team DDP plans to spray its way to 4,000 hp in Indy. Stay tuned for more on this swing-for-the-fences build.

Raising The Bar For The Duramax/Allison

Rumor has it the fastest crew cab, short bed Duramax/Allison combination in the world is about to get even faster. After some time away from the track, Daman Perry has vowed to return with a vengeance this year, burying his own eighth-mile record of 5.80s behind the wheel of this CCSB GMC. A nasty, stroker motor lurks under the hood—complete with a billet SoCal Diesel crank and big bore Diamond Racing pistons (bringing displacement to 7.3L). Aluminum R&R rods are also part of the rotating assembly, while the big fuel Duramax spins a T-6 88mm turbo in the valley. UDT Tuned by Blake Crenshaw, it’s the fastest five-speed A1000 equipped Duramax in existence.

A Brand-New 7.3L Power Stroke—Direct From Ford?

Didn’t know you could still order a new 7.3L Power Stroke from Ford? You can, sort of, and DNR Customs just got its hands on one for a loyal customer. Remanufactured yet presented as new, these complete, drop-in replacements come with a 2-year, unlimited mileage warranty on defective parts and labor. But they also come with a no-fault core policy, which means you get 100-percent credit no matter the quality of the core engine you send back to Ford. Unfortunately, these units also come with powdered metal connecting rods rather than the more desirable forged-steel versions, so don’t get too carried away with the power adders…

Ford's New Anti-Tow Technology

We really enjoy watching out for Ford's new patents. This new one is pretty interesting.  Patent #059277 published on 2.26.26 involves tech that would monitor tows. First, the vehicle would be able to access a database of known "tow areas" and determine whether or not the vehicle (once parked) is at risk of being towed. If it is at risk, it appears the owner would be notified prior to the tow. Second, when the vehicle is actually towed, the vehicle would be able to determine if it's a legal tow or an illegal one (based on the aforementioned database). It would then begin recording data on the whole process including vehicle location. Which data is recorded appears to be based on whether its a legal tow or not. As always, time will only tell what Ford decides to do with this new patent.

Diesels In The Desert

It was a hot one, but just what everyone wanted. Under new ownership and management, the new NHRDA kicked off the 2026 race season in Arizona over the weekend—and the turnout was huge. At the much-hyped, $20,000 Blue Collar No Prep race on the backend of Firebird Motorsports Park’s quarter-mile drag strip, Power Driven Diesel’s Todd Welsh stole the show behind the wheel of his 12-valve Cummins. Another notable highlight was Daily Driven Performance’s Chris Voorheis making the long haul south from Idaho and taking the win in the 5.90 Index class, beating out former UCC champ Ken Bruner in the process.

Tug Of War at Edgewater

It might be seven months away from now, but the reasons to attend the fifth race on the 2026 Outlaw Diesel Super Series circuit are already adding up. Not only is a full ODSS show being brought to Edgewater Sports Park for the first time, but a Tug A Truck competition will now be part of Saturday night’s festivities. On the the ODSS’s inaugural visit to the Cincinnati area’s historical racetrack (open since the 1950s), expect a big turnout given the facility’s greater Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio location. Tug A Truck classes are 5,500-lb, 6,500-lb, and 8,500-lb, with a 50-pound grace. Expect a diesel to dominate the latter weight category.
