Even though Mother Nature intervened on Friday, canceling all Battle of the Bluegrass pulling action, fans returned in droves for Saturday’s festivities at the third annual Houdini Diesel Horsepower Showdown in Cynthiana, Kentucky. Various tractor, truck, and semi classes battled it out in the dirt, with Pro Stock (3.6), Limited Pro Stock (3.0), and Work Stock diesel truck classes putting on a show. Scott Willoughby would win 3.6 (shown), Austin White and “The Gambler” got the W in a 14-truck, 3.0 field, and Austin Church’s Duramax cruised to victory in Work Stock. The Northwest Dyno Series SuperFlow was also on hand, with ODSS racer, Chris Naudain claiming top honors in the compound turbo fuel only class as well as the unlimited category.

Ford just released its newest package for 2026 Mustang models. The FX Package, as it's being called, will be a throwback to the immensely popular '80s and '90s "Fox Body" Mustangs. Not the first time Ford has reached into its vintage portfolio for design ideas. The 2024 Mustang's gauge cluster was also a throwback to the Fox Body's analog cluster. The new FX package, available on GT models only, looks to be purely an appearance package with two different styles of white wheels available, new emblem lettering, plaid seat inserts, and new paint colors reminiscent of the '80s and '90s era style (Adriatic Blue Metallic seen here).

Life just got a whole lot easier (and less expensive) for L5P Duramax owners running HP Tuners, and—being that a boatload of PPEI customers are tuned via HP Tuners software—PPEI is helping to spread the word. HP Tuners now supports direct OBD-II upgrades for the GM E41 ECM. That means no physical cable is needed, no controller removal is required, and there is no shipping. Simply plug in, upgrade, and start calibrating. The upgrade supports late 2018-2023 model year L5P and 2019-2023 L5D engines. If you own a 2017 or early 2018 model, the upgrade kit is still required—but the price has been reduced to $199.99 (from $349.99 previously).

After serving the diesel industry for the better part of a decade, Maverick Motorsports is joining forces with DieselR Corp of Alberta, Canada. But this isn’t the end. On the contrary, the folks at Maverick are eager to point out that it’s merely the beginning. The beginning of more resources, better support, and more horsepower to service its current and future customers better than ever before. A monumental acquisition for DieselR Corp, the industry-leading tuning company gains the mind of Paul Cato, an avid drag racer and former ODSS Pro Street champion whose tuning has propelled countless other trucks into the winner’s circle, be it on the drag strip, the sled pulls, or on the dyno.

It looks like outrageous prices for mint condition, old-school 7.3L Power Strokes are here to stay—and King of Cars & Trucks Inc. definitely knows how to find the cleanest OBS Fords on the planet. Late last week, this one-owner, 1995 F-350 listed (and then sold) for an incredible $99,500. The 1-ton time capsule has accumulated just 22,814 miles in its 30-year existence. XLT trim, E4OD automatic, and 4x4, it’s a no-frills standard cab Blue Oval that stickered for $29,504 back in March of 1995. No one could’ve predicted it would sell for three times that amount three decades later.

From low-mile 7.3L’s to high-mile 7.3L’s, this odometer should convince you your old 444 ci HEUI-fired workhorse can go the distance. This one belongs to William Poe, a member of the Ford 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel 99-03 Facebook group. His bone-stock, un-tuned Super Duty hauls horses for a living—and he logs anywhere from 600 to 900 miles every single day, depending on the load (and route). And get this, due to the kind of miles William racks up, he’s changing the engine oil every eight to nine days! So, what did it take to get the 7.3L Power Stroke to live this long? According to William, not a whole lot beyond regular maintenance. In fact, his only major repair to date has been a set of brand-new Motorcraft injectors, which replaced the original units at 600,000 miles.
