Mustang GTD Resets Its Own Record: Nürburgring

America's fastest car at the Nürburgring just keeps getting faster. Just a few days ago, a Ford GTD Mustang driven by Dirk Müller just became the fastest American car to run the famed track. If you follow our newsletter, Mustang Motorsports, or racing at the "Ring", you know it's not the first time that the GTD has done this. Earlier in the year, the GTD piloted by factory racers did the 'Ring in 6:57.685, which made it the fastest American car to run the 'Ring as well. Also made it one of only four cars to break the 7-second barrier. A huge achievement. Jim Farley (Ford CEO) has clearly shown his dedication to getting the GTD better and better, faster and faster, and last week, they made a significant improvement. The GTD's latest lap of the Nürburgring beat the GTD's prior record by five seconds. The time means many things, but a big one, it's faster than some prior fastest lap times from a very well-respected road course car, the GT3 RS Porsche. Proving that the GTD can now compete with Porsche in the Ring.

Can A 6.0L Power Stroke Win The Ultimate Callout Challenge?

You can bet Austin Denny would like to. The owner of the infamous compound turbo’d 2006 F-250 Super Duty that went from a 5.90 Index truck to a Pro Street fire-breather in the Outlaw Diesel Super Series is poised to compete at UCC for the second year in a row—and this time its driver has more experience on his side. Austin’s 9-inch converted Ford is lighter than you think, and it’s also proven it can lay down more than 1,900 hp on the chassis dyno (a 6.0L Power Stroke record). Austin’s race program is backed by Warren Diesel Injection, Bullseye Power Turbochargers, SoCal Billet, and Hot Shot’s Secret. Check out the link below for Austin’s full race bio.

Rudy’s Spring Truck Jam Kicks Off The 2025 ODSS Season

Did it rain? Yes (of course). But did they pull the race off? Also yes. The Outlaw Diesel Super Series faithful descended on Rockingham Dragway for the 2025 rendition of Rudy’s Spring Truck Jam over the weekend, and four new racing classes made their debut. In the all-new Top Diesel category, Jayle Wagler brought home the hardware in her lightweight, Duramax-powered rail. In Super Diesel, Justin Zeigler took the win behind the wheel of his freshly repowered ’06 Dodge (which now packs a billet-aluminum, Wagler-built Cummins). In Pro Truck, the latest version of Brian Jelich’s 7.3L-powered 2000 F-350 got the W. And in 5.70 Index, Ryan Reiser stole the show, the first-ever win for him and his 6.7L Power Stroke equipped ’12 Super Duty. In the more familiar classes of 6.70 Index, 7.70 Index, and ET Bracket, Jeremy Stickney, Dustin Mintern, and Ryan Riddle earned wins.

Mark Your Calendars: The Thoroughbred Diesel Throwdown Is Coming

The annual Thoroughbred Diesel Throwdown is less than two weeks away, and the team in Winchester, Kentucky wants you to come out, blow off some smoke, and join in on the excitement. As in years past, the Northwest Dyno Series SuperFlow chassis dyno (i.e. the U.C.C. dyno) will be on hand—and attendees should expect a couple Ultimate Callout Challenge trucks to make a few test hits before the big day in Indy—with Stock, Limited, and Unlimited classes being run (and cash payouts for the top 5 finishers). Trophies will also be handed out at the show ‘n shine, where everything from Best Of Show to Best Interior will be judged (and awarded cold, hard cash).

Another Wild TSD Build Is Just About Ready To Hit The Track

It’s a project the folks at Truck Source Diesel broke ground on last June. Now, the ground-up 5.90 Index truck known as “Maxwell 2.0” is just about finished. When owner and driver Ray Ross decided to bump up to the 5.90 Index class from 6.70, significant upgrades were in store. At the top of the list was a new roll cage, followed by an aggressive diet to shave some weight and a new LBZ Duramax to hold up to the newfound abuse. Ray’s new GM V-8 boasts a billet Callies crank, billet main caps, a Wagler alternate fire camshaft, retains its Stage 1 SoCal Diesel heads, and packs a single 14mm CP3, larger injectors, and a 92mm S400.
