Over the weekend at the FL2K event at Bradenton Motorsports, the famous (or infamous depending on your position in races against him) "Snot Rocket" Coyote powered Mustang, owned and driven by Brett LaSala, suffered a wreck. What apparently caused it is wild. First off, LaSala is fine, with no injuries reported. What caused the wreck? Well, the rumor is a socket wrench that fell from the car and caused the tire to fail towards the top end of the track, although it is a rumor, we can't find any confirmation from the team as of yet. Less than 48hrs prior the car reset the Stick Shift record with a 6.458 at 233.44 MPH pass. We're glad Brett is ok, and we hope to see Snot Rocket back on the track again very soon.

Was this the biggest FP Truck Fest to date? Over the weekend, thousands invaded the Fentress County Fairgrounds in Jamestown, Tennessee for the sixth (6.0) rendition of Fitzgerald Performance’s FP Truck Fest. This time (and in addition to the event’s signature burnout shenanigans), truck pulling was part of the show—and the payouts were huge. The Hot Street class boasted a $20,000 winner takes all payout while a cool $5,000 was up for grabs in the S400 Single Street category. People, smoke, show trucks, burnout trucks, pulling trucks, carnage, and more people help explain why this has become (and is being billed as) the “rowdiest diesel show in the country.”

There was a bit of noise emanating from the Wehrli Custom Fabrication facility in DeKalb, Illinois over the weekend. It was the company’s biennial open house and the Northwest Dyno Series SuperFlow was in town. High honors on the rollers went to Cody Hawk’s Duramax piloted by horsepower junkie Morey Logues. The Silverado you likely recognize from UCC made a solid 2,347 hp before the intake manifold exploded. Michael Brown, another UCC regular, also made the trek, and cleared 1,778 hp. Christian Wichman (1,769 hp), Adam Matuszek (1,557 hp), Nic Keck (1,318 hp), and Cody Carlson (1,247 hp) also made impressive hits on the dyno, while hundreds of attendees perused vendor row and a sprawling show ‘n shine.

It’s going to be a very busy weekend at the upcoming Hub City Dirt Drags in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Just check out the competitor list! The event’s Diesel Truck Challenge is arguably its biggest draw, and 39 drivers are signed up to lay it all on the line in 2026. New this year, contestants will hook to the sled Friday night—just a couple hours after hitting the dyno and swinging for the fences on the rollers. Saturday, the affair lives up to its name with its acclaimed heads-up dirt drag action for the final leg of the Diesel Truck Challenge.

When it comes to the type of competition you find in Limited Pro Stock diesel truck pulling, Rob Wright’s second-gen is about as formidable as it gets. Even as the world turns more and more toward common-rail injection, his P-pumped Cummins program continues to keep pace with the competition. Rob would drive his “All Attitude” Dodge to victory once more on Saturday, this win coming at the Ohio State Tractor Pullers Association (OSTPA) Championship finale at the Coshocton County Fair. Despite missing a pull in what amounted to a rain-shortened, 13-hook season, Rob still finished Fourth Place overall in OSTPA points.

When you show up and prove you can consistently finish at or near the top, you end up like Lane Wright. After taking note of Lane’s dominant performance(s) at the NHRDA World Finals (he won both the 7.70 Index and Sportsman ET classes), the folks at All In Truck Performance approached him about driving one of their L5P Duramax race trucks in 2027. Look for Lane to strap in behind the wheel of this late-model GMC next season, a truck that you’ll likely see competing in the 6.70 Index category and possibly even double-dipping in the 7.70 or Sportsman ET field. Of course, also look for Lane to continue campaigning his championship-winning Woodland Green LB7.
