We also kicked the pump out of the engine valley and put it on a trusty serpentine belt. No more timing gear issues either, we moved the pump's workload to the crankshaft's snout, where it belongs.
Installation is so easy, you could change it during a commercial break (ok, a long one...). Reliability? Serpentine belts have been keeping diesel hauling the world for decades, as has the CP3.
