The patent pending CNC Convex Knurling process (CKP) on the SPE pulleys offers a perfect balance between belt grip and wear. The machining process allows the rib surface to offer varying grip under different belt loads. Under minimal boost (light Throttle) the belt tension is lower at the pulley face. The process offers a low load area for the belt to have normal factory like contact on the rib face allowing the belt to wear less over time. When load is applied it is wedged down into the Convex knurling the grip becomes more aggressive to the belt the higher the load (Boost demand) becomes. This keeps the belt on a perfect grip/wear threshold. Unlike Laser surface etching found on our competitors pulleys our process doesn't degrade or wear off. Since our pulleys don't wear they are more consistent giving the customer better track times and dyno numbers. Although SPE's CNC Convex Knurling Process is costly to produce we are more concerned with providing our customers the best quality product at the best price possible.
