We get asked all the time: "I just bought my first 6.7. What should I do to it?" Hands down there's three fail items that are the most common or most damaging (to the truck, and/or to your ability to get home). Sure, there's other things that every 6.7 owner should upgrade in time, but when it come to what to do first to improve reliability, this is what we usually recommend:
The 6.7L Powerstroke’s crankcase ventilation (CCV) filter can become restricted (or simply overfilled with oil), increasing crankcase pressure and causing oil leaks, or even running issues. The oil leaks often require the engine come out to fix. Replacing the filter equipped factory installed setup with an upgrade, is the way to go:

The 6.7L Powerstroke’s CP4 high-pressure fuel pump is susceptible to internal wear and failure. When it fails, metal debris can spread throughout the fuel system, resulting in extremely expensive repairs. Replacing it with a more reliable CP3 (found HERE) is the best route, adding a Disaster Prevention Kit inline is the less expensive route:

The 6.7L Powerstroke’s cold-side intercooler pipe (CAC tube) is a plastic part that's prone to cracking or splitting under boost. When it fails, you'll experience sudden power loss, reduced boost pressure, poor acceleration, and likely be left stranded waiting on a tow. Upgrade it with something more substantial and leave that worry behind:
